The Houston Galleria’s new luxury “Jewel Box” will be getting the famous dim sum restaurant Yauatcha (slated to open end of 2016). Yauatcha owned by the Hakkasan group, started in London in 2004 and earned a Michelin Star in 2005. With a location in SOHO London and near great shopping such as Carnaby street, Yauatcha has been on my personal list of places to eat whenever I’m in town. It’s modern Chinese tea concept is both delicious and comforting with a plethora of beautiful desserts that one must save room for. The Galleria’s stand alone “Jewel Box” is filling not with only luxury shopping but also with enticing eateries. Houston has much room for upscale Chinese food, and I think Yauatcha is just the first step for Houston in this realm.
